Character Name: Lissa
Canon: Fire Emblem: Awakening
Canon Point: pre-endgame
Background/History: awakening and lissa at the fe wiki!

Personality:
As the princess of Ylisse, Lissa defies most stereotypes that would be associated with royalty. Despite having been raised in the lap of luxury with her brother Chrom and older sister Emmeryn, she is a very positive, friendly young lady. If anything she acts a bit spoiled from time to time, but the former traits far outweigh the latter. Lissa tends to put the well being of her friends and subjects before her own, and prefers to be considered as a friend above all else. However, just because her upbringing was fancy, that doesn't mean that she herself is fancy!

Although she enjoys cute things and wears a dress on the battlefield, Lissa isn't afraid to charge into the heat of battle. Her initial role is as a passive healer, but she has the potential to be a powerful weapon-user or offensive magic-wielder as well. Lissa is never one to stand on the sidelines and cheer on; if there is action on the battlefield, she will insist on making herself useful to the Shepherds. She is very much a "hands-on" princess, wanting to serve others directly through her actions as opposed to behind the scenes. She speaks like a commoner, and even goes as far as to dismiss people addressing her with titles such as "Miss" or "Your Highness" to avoid the feeling of superiority that comes with her social class. Instead, she wants to be seen as an equal.

As demonstrated through several of her supports, Lissa isn't exactly the poster girl for ladylike behavior. Although this is the attitude she strives for, in truth she is tomboyish, a bit immature, snorts when she laughs, and loves to play pranks. Said pranks involve quite a bit of cunning and sneakiness, but almost always end up with someone annoyed with her. In comparison to her older siblings, it appears that she isn't as much of a leader or as serious about her position as a figure that people look up to. This leads to her feeling a bit unsure if she seems like a princess, seeing herself as "dead weight" and unable to live up to their legacies. However, she is able to realize that she fulfills her role as a princess in her own way, through just being herself. She does eventually mature into a ruler not unlike Emmeryn, but it's achieved through time and experience. In Chrom's words, she is able to "motivate and inspire [people] just by [her] presence".

The relationship that Lissa has with her future son Owain also says quite a bit about her as well. While children such as Gerome are a bit distant with their parents, Lissa has taken on the sudden maternal role quite well. She isn't weirded out in the slightest by the fact that he's from the future, and she accepts and cares for him as if they had been together since the day he was born. This is where Lissa's mature side begins to shine; she can be quite stern when Owain doesn't seem to be taking things seriously (even though it's a trait inherited from her...), but she can also provide advice and reassurance when he needs it. She's a very doting and affectionate mother, and always makes sure Owain knows that he is loved and appreciated.

Another important relationship that Lissa has is that with her best friend, Maribelle. While other people treated Maribelle as an outcast due to her less-than-pleasant attitude, Lissa persisted and talked to her, all for the sake of becoming her friend. While Lissa herself saw this as something simple, Maribelle takes it very much to heart. Lissa was unable to understand why simply talking to her was such a big deal, which shows how unaware she is of the positive impact she has on other people. Although they are as different as can be (with Maribelle being a poised and refined Ylissan noble), Lissa was able to reach out and become extremely close with her. As long as they are willing, Lissa will always make the effort to extend a friendly hand to someone.

A strong driving factor for Lissa is one that is shared by Chrom and Owain - justice. For a girl that was raised by her siblings without any parents, she has a very strong moral code. When she fights, she does it for the good of those around her. Despite being a bit inexperienced and naive about the big world around her, she knows that what she is fighting for is right, and that's all she needs as motivation. Her strength persisted even after her sister's tragic sacrifice, and she was able to push on in order to avenge and remember her.  As long as those she cares about are safe, she will fight until the very end.

Abilities/Powers: Lissa comes from a world where mythical creatures and magic exist and can be controlled by humans. She is very adept at using the latter, which can be used to heal her allies. As a War Cleric, she is also able to wield axes for offense.

Her skills have come from being classed as a Valkyrie, and then reclassing as a War Cleric. She'll be able to use these skills in battle, which can be redefined for an IC setting:
  • Miracle: if she's lucky, Lissa can survive an attack that could be fatal, but just barely. This gives her time to either heal herself or retreat.
  • Healtouch: Heals the wound of an ally a little bit more than normal. (+5 HP than usual when healing)
  • Dual Support+: When fighting alongside someone she has an emotional tie with, Lissa is able to give them a strength boost. (Increases the effect of support bonuses during Pair Up.)
  • Renewal: Lissa's wounds will heal themselves slightly over time. (5-10 HP recovery at the start of each turn)
  • Rally Luck: Magic that can make make allies a bit more likely to hit a weak point on an enemy. (+4 Lck to nearby units)

Items/Weapons: Her clothing, her healing staff, and a Killer Axe.
